Over the past 12 years Tanami Gold NL has built a high quality portfolio of gold resources, prospect areas and conceptual geological targets through its large prospective ground holding in the Tanami-Arunta Province of Central Australia.
Through the consolidation of an extensive geological and historical exploration database and the collective experience of the Company's geologists in efficiently and successfully exploring in a remote and challenging environment, the Company has never been better positioned to achieve its goal of discovering a world class gold deposit.
The Tanami Project comprises a landholding of 7,857 square kilometres over the highly prospective Tanami gold field with exploration operations based out of the Coyote Gold Mine in Western Australia.
The Arunta Project tenements cover a broad range of Proterozoic terranes within the Arunta Province in which the Company is primarily targeting Tanami-style gold deposits.
Sale of Uranium Rights to Deep Yellow
In mid 2005 the Company announced that it had sold the uranium rights to its extensive Tanami-Arunta exploration portfolio to Deep Yellow Limited (Deep Yellow).
In consideration for the right to explore for and develop uranium deposits throughout Tanami Gold's large ground holding, Deep Yellow paid Tanami Gold $400,000 cash and issued Tanami Gold with 30,000,000 ordinary shares in Deep Yellow. Over the past year Tanami Gold has sold its shareholding in Deep Yellow for proceeds which were used for working capital.
Pursuant to the terms and conditions of Tanami Gold's Agreements with the Traditional Owners and the Central Land Council relating to Tanami Gold's tenements in the Northern Territory, Deep Yellow is required to further consult and negotiate land access arrangements for uranium exploration with the Traditional Owners/Central Land Council.
