Company Overview
EXPLORER TO PRODUCER
Since 1994 Tanami Gold NL has positioned itself for success by acquiring a major ground position in the Tanami-Arunta Province, gaining access to large areas through negotiating agreements with the Aboriginal owners, and completing successful regional early stage exploration programs in its own right and through joint venture partners.
On 24 November 2003, the Company announced that it was the successful bidder for AngloGold Ashanti Australia Limited's Western Tanami Project. Mining commenced in May 2006 with the official Coyote Gold Project mine opening on 24 May 2006.
The key economic driver of the high quality Coyote gold deposit is the mining of the high grade underground ore. The first ore from underground development is scheduled to be extracted during the June 2008 Quarter with production of underground ore continuing to be ramped up during the June and September 2008 Quarters.
With the underground development underway, the Company's aim is to achieve a minimum annualised production rate of 50,000 ounces of gold.
Further encouraging exploration results have been returned at prospects within trucking distance of the Coyote treatment plant and within the large Northern Territory tenement holdings which have the potential to host multi-million ounce deposits. Tanami Gold's ground position in the Tanami-Arunta Province covers 28,450km².
