MINE GEOLOGISTS
Our current two Mine Geologist positions offer the opportunity for the right applicant to be part of the start-up of an open pit and underground operation in a non-compartmentalised department that has few boundaries. We offer the diversity of open pit mining, underground mining, exploration and resource geology and require the Mine Geologist applicants to have:
- 2+ years' mining experience.
- Good communication skills with the ability to contribute as an effective team member.
- Software literacy in one of the major mining packages. Vulcan would be highly regarded.
- A dynamic and energenic personality.
- Knowledge of sample theory, with sampling and geostatistics highly regarded.
The Tanami Gold geology department is a small team with a strong commitment to mentoring, offering an ideal opportunity for role diversity, career fast-tracking and management experience. You will then be involved in a range of on site duties and responsibilities, including:
- Establishing working systems at setup for a new mine.
- Have a strong focus on geology and sample theory.
- Undertake resource interpretations and interpolations.
- Working with the regional exploration department to delineate further economic targets.
- Taking on near-mine exploration target generation, interpretation and resource evaluation of current and future deposits.
The FIFO roster will be based on 9:5 and the commute to site is available from most Australian capital cities. Non-WA residents are encouraged to apply.
